blogcession

As a result of the huge economic crisis in the United States, the Toronto franchise of the popular city-oriented "ist" series of blogs -- Torontoist -- will shut its virtual doors on December 31st. According to an editorial today by Torontoist Editor David Topping, "Torontoist can barely be sustained, let alone developed, and it has survived and thrived as long as it has, in spite of modest means, largely because of the ceaseless hard work of that aforementioned collective."

A blog shutting down because of a recession? Interesting.
