Out and about this past weekend, I stopped in at Sharon, Ontario where the Words Alive literary festival took over the grounds of the Sharon Temple with a packed schedule of readings. We are entering the fall festival season in the province -- my favorite time of the year to be out on the roads, exploring.
Of course, the Eden Mills festival was happening at the exact same time, but there was just too much distance, and two many apple trees between Sharon and Eden Mills for me to get to both. I suppose it says something about literary culture in the province that two such festivals could pull in great line-ups and great crowds on maybe the finest day of the whole summer.
