Al Purdy update

Check out this beautiful sculptural bust of Al Purdy by James Walke. James works (and lives) at Black Locust Studio, not far from Purdy's birthplace (Wooler, Ontario). The sculpture is one of many fundraising items offered to the Al Purdy A-Frame Trust in their effort to raise enough money to preserve Purdy's old A-Frame on Prince Edward County.

Here's a map to Al's old neighbourhood, if anyone is interested in seeing the A-Frame up close:

And, of course, for those in and around Toronto, come down to the Lakeside Terrace at Harbourfront this evening to help celebrate the launch of the Al Purdy A-Frame Anthology.

Doors open at 7 p.m., and tickets to the event are $8.00. Call 416-973-4000 for more information, or check out the Facebook event page.
